Artist’s Statement:
Zuzolo’s 2026 Fall/Winter collection entitled “Dreams Breed Life into Men” explores the artist’s psychological dreams and the women who inhabit them. Hierarchy, social power, intimacy, and the culture of women in history are all manifested in this collection of 18 portrait-vignettes. Zuzolo finishes each piece in colored pencil, gouache, or watercolor with “panes grey” as the predominant pigment used in these original works. Tones of grey and blue suggest the oncoming winter and the collapse of summer as the world slowly falls asleep, dreaming of the vague expressions and faces that appear in our heads.
